Le Rioja is an area in North Spain surrounded by wineyards. The region offers a wide variety of wines with distinct characteristics and flavors. The terroir, the vineyard, the grape, the cellar, etc. all play a role in the final product !
Its origins date back to 1158 but in the 14th and 16th centuries it underwent various modification. The cathedral is a stupendous model of proto-gothic architecture. The library at Yuso is one of the most important in Spain, not only on account of the number of documents it contains, but also for their age and value. Designated World Heritage on 4 December 1997. The church has three naves and dates from the 16th century. Inside there are Corinthian columns and paintings by Juan Rizzi.

The village is a historic and artistic fortified ensemble with ogival arches on its walls. The impressive castle dated 14th century is one of the better renovated in La Rioja. The Church of La Asunción, from the 12th and 13th centuries, has different styles and is next to the castle. Its interior stores an image of the Virgen de La Antigua.
This medieval town was founded in the 10th century as a defence for the Kingdom of Navarre. The streets of Laguardia are full of splendid medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical buildings. The surviving remains of its walls will carry you back in time.
The San Blas Market is a beautiful market located in the town’s
old of the city of Logroño, capital of the autonomous community of
La Rioja. It was inaugurated in 1930, work of the prestigious architect Fermín Álamo from Logroño.
Located at the foot of the highest peak in Castile, “San Lorenzo”, which casts its shadow over the town of Ezcaray. The Oja River has its source here. Besides skiing, you can enjoy hunting, fishing, mountaineering, tennis, swimming, horse riding, etc. This is a natural paradise.
Above the old cellar district, the chimneys used to ventilate the cellars and to expel the carbon dioxide gas formed by the fermentation of the grapes are protruding.
